The main floor of the home is entered by way of a covered deck and charming Dutch door. In the entry way there is a large coat closet, access to the main floor bath and a secret bookshelf door that leads to the den/office. The main floor bath is ADA-compliant, allowing for access with a wheelchair. The tile floor, pedestal sink, low-threshold shower and grab bars make the bathroom accessible for anyone, regardless of their physical abilities. The den has a sustainably-grown Australian chestnut floor, faux wainscot, custom wallpaper, plaster crown moldings,  and floor-ceiling custom-made Neil Kelly cabinetry.

The entry, kitchen and great room boast Marmoleum flooring for easy wear and use. The custom kitchen cabinetry, also by Neil Kelly, includes a large pull-out pantry, lower drawers instead of cupboards, and a high-tech shelf-pullout for the corner cabinet. There are “cubbies” above the upper cabinets for displaying collectibles. Appliances include a French-door refrigerator, 8-burner/double oven dual fuel range, microwave drawer, and dishwasher. In the kitchen island–that is topped with a salvaged piece of Alaskan marble–is a pullout for trash and recycling. The Kohler sink has a low divider so it can accommodate large pans and separate hot water dispenser and touch-less faucet. A second Kohler bar sink and under-counter dual-temperature wine refrigerator form a handy entertaining side bar. The countertops are easy-care, sustainable Ceasarstone and the custom backsplashes are made from recycled glass tiles. A custom-made, recycled glass chandelier and custom-made recycled-glass mosaic breakfast bar add stunning, artful detail to the kitchen.

The great room is large enough for a large dining room set and sitting area and is punctuated by the real stone gas-burning fireplace, wainscot and cabinetry salvaged from the old cabin, and 8 foot by 16 foot windows/slider that open out onto the deck and the 180 degree view of Port Susan.
